After ten years, the site of Zeeuwen Gezocht (Zeelanders Wanted) of the Zeeuws Archief (Zeeland Archives) is renewed. The ISIS program has been replaced by MAIS-Flexis and MAIS-Internet of De Ree archiefsystemen. With this new website we hope to manage and publish the large amount of personal data in the archives and collections of the Zeeuws Archief properly for the next few years.

Zeeuwen Gezocht lets you find listings of more than 7 million individual entries of person names in the various sources of the Zeeuws Archief. You type a name and Zeeuwen Gezocht tells you in what resources that name occurs. You can also use other search terms or combinations to try. Also through the website of the Zeeuws Archief (Zoeken > Personen) and the website Archieven.nl the 7 million person names are available. On this website we can make additional information available, including information about the hundreds of source files, alerts on newly added files, tips and resources for your research, and of course the ability to (extended) respond.

It is also possible to order photocopies of entries. On the page Order Information you can read how ordering works and what the rates are.

The contents of Zeeuwen Gezocht is the result of years of work by dozens of volunteers and staff of the Zeeuws Archief. It is a people's work, so you will encounter input errors. Also, far from all sources with persons in Zeeuwen Gezocht are (fully) included.

Through the page Sources you can see what is already available in Zeeuwen Gezocht. A click on New lists new resources which are recently added.
